Cressex Lodge is a small independent school offering secondary education. Our approach is innovative and nurturing to boys with a variety of educational and social needs. We tailor our approach as much as possible to the individual needs of pupils so they are able to achieve their greatest potential and prepare them for further education, work and life.

Our approach is different from that of a mainstream school whilst providing a full range of qualifications, from entry level to GCSE. It is a supportive environment that enables pupils to feel valued, recognised as individuals and capable of achieving. We work with a broad range of pupils with varying abilities, some who have experienced life in mainstream school and those who have come to us with a range of needs with a disrupted educational history. We are able to support these pupils with a therapeutic approach, working in a way which acknowledges their individual needs. All pupils are different and respond positively to a tailored approach to education. We consider each pupil as a whole and work to help them gain confidence and academic success.

Our latest Ofsted report can be found here:

‘We are committed to providing each pupil with the best chance to achieve. We do this by treating everyone as an individual, an individual who has a say in how we best meet his educational needs.’
Sarah Snape, Headmistress

Mission Statement

Our aim is to provide each of our pupils with an Education for Life, by valuing and respecting them as individuals, developing their self-esteem, relationships and attachments; encouraging their individual abilities to their full potential in a caring and orderly environment.
