Sarah Snape

BA (Hons), PGCE, PGCE Special Education, NPQH

After gaining a BA Honours degree in Psychology and PGCE in Special Education, Sarah began her teaching career in East London before moving to a residential SEBD school in 1994. From there, she headed up a variety of special settings, including a behaviour support service, pupil referral units and a residential special school, all the while developing experience of teaching from Key Stages 1-4 and working closely with educational psychology services. Sarah has a particular interest in developing the social and emotional skills of pupils and believes every child and young person is entitled to a broad and balanced education and as many opportunities in life as possible – values she shares with SWAAY and which contributed to her appointment as SWAAY school headteacher in 2012.
