Please note, in providing permission for you, your colleagues and your service to use the Assessment of Sexual Knowledge in Adolescents (ASKA), use of this tool is subject to the following conditions:
- The Approved Material (i.e., Questionnaire, picture book, instructions, excelsheet, etc.) must not be modified or adapted in any way.
- All uses of the Approved Material must be accompanied with a suitable attribution of the State and the Department as copyright owner of the Approved Material.
All copies must bear the acknowledgement below in a conspicuous position:“Adapted from, The Assessment of Sexual Knowledge – ‘ASK’ (Butler, Leighton & Galea, 2003) by Samantha Richards in consultation with the Learning Disability Working Group (Richards, 2018). Results sharing…
In order for us to continue to develop the tool and potentially publish some research on the sexual
knowledge of young people who have engaged in concerning and/or harmful sexual behaviours we
would encourage you to please:
- Provide any feedback on your experience of using the tool to redwards@swaay.co.uk
- Share anonymised data with us, by completing the ASKA Data Base excel spreadsheet which you will receive as part of the ASKA Questionnaire materials
In return we will keep you informed of any updates we make to the measure, and any research that we undertake associated with it.
I understand the above request and when sharing a completed ASKA Data Base spreadsheet will seek the consent of the legal guardian of the young person (s) with whom I am using the ASKA to share anonymised data with SWAAY for the purposes described above.
